Is it possible to combine pleasure and rebellion?

GRETE – A Rebellion in Three Acts is an immersive site-specific theatre piece created in cooperation with Junges Volkstheater Vienna.

GRETE is based on the biographies of two women from Vienna’s 5th district, Margareten: architect Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky and lawyer Grete Grau, both of whom were forced to flee Austria during National Socialism and were pioneers in their professions and political struggles.

The first act of rebellion in GRETE took place at Café Siebenbrunnen; the second station was a mobile boxing ring, which the audience followed across the district; and the final act unfolded in the queer nightlife institution Wiener Freiheit.
